?q=100)
Distorted Flash won the $50,000 Wilma Mankiller for the second year in a row Monday at Will Rogers Downs, when she held off Aquila Moon for a head victory. It was three-quarters of a length back in third to Adria.
The Wilma Mankiller was to have been held last week, but was canceled due to work being done on a small area of the racing surface following a tractor file. The race was redrawn for Monday.
Distorted Flash ($12.60) tracked the pace in third as favorite Ragan’s Jet set fractions of 22.73 seconds for the opening quarter and 45.64 for the half-mile in the six-furlong race for fillies and mares. Distorted Flash came into the stretch three wide and rallied to cover the distance on a fast track in 1:11.01.
Richard Eramia was aboard the winner for trainer Joe Offolter.
Distorted Flash is a daughter of Flashback who races for Bryan Hawk. She has now won 8 of 23 starts for earnings of $185,404.
Racing resumes Tuesday with the running of the $50,000 Highland Ice Stakes.
