Distance could be a little short for Wudda U Think Now

Trainer Rudy Rodriguez will seek to add to his meet-leading six victories when he sends out Wudda U Think Now in Friday’s statebred allowance feature going seven furlongs.

Wudda U Think Now, a gelding by Fast Anna, is coming off a second-place finish to Jerry the Nipper in this first-level allowance condition Dec. 10. Jerry the Nipper came back to win a second-level allowance race last Saturday with a career-best Beyer Speed Figure of 89.

Rodriguez was hoping to run back at a mile, but said the only other option to this seven-furlong race was last Sunday’s nine-furlong race.

Troubleshooter, one of two horses entered by trainer Jeremiah Englehart, looms the major threat. The gelding by Into Mischief gets blinkers for his first start since Halloween.

Englehart’s other entrant is Raven Rocks, also a son of Into Mischief, who was fifth in this condition going six furlongs Dec. 20.
