Disobedient finds nice spot in Pago Hop Stakes
RACE REPLAY IS NOT AVAILABLE
Disobedient powered to a five-length first-level allowance win Nov. 26 at Fair Grounds. Considering that race was rained off turf and onto dirt, which probably is not Disobedient’s preferred surface, and that she beat older horses, the 3-year-old filly figures a major factor returning to grass and her age group in the $75,000 Pago Hop Stakes. The Pago Hop is run at about a mile over the turf.
It also doesn’t hurt that she comes out of the Brad Cox barn. Cox is 0 for 5 in Fair Grounds stakes this meet, but went 12 for 32 with a $3.61 ROI at the track during the 2019-2020 season.

Disobedient was undone by post 12 debuting in a two-turn Indiana Grand maiden special weight turf race in September before graduating on grass by seven lengths there in October. She has some tactical pace and can get a good trip in the Pago Hop from post 4 under Shaun Bridgmohan, albeit at a price likely lower than her 5-1 morning line.
In Good Spirits should have a solid chance from the front end after just missing in a second-level Fair Grounds grass allowance open to fillies and mares.
Evil Lynn, the 7-2 morning-line favorite, is marooned out in post 11 and has no real edge on a few horses likely to get better trips.
