Diabolical Dame delivers as favorite in Foutz Distaff

Diabolical Dame darted to a 2 1/2-length win over Back Seat Roll on Saturday in the $45,000 Russell and Helen Foutz Distaff Handicap at SunRay Park in Farmington, N.M. The race was one of the first stakes of the meet that opened Friday. It was another 3 3/4 lengths back in third to Funnyoushouldask.
The Foutz, a 6 1/2-furlong race run around two turns, was restricted to fillies and mares bred in New Mexico.
Diabolical Dame ($3.60) tracked the pace set by Traders Pride, who led the field through an opening quarter in 22.67 seconds and 45.69 for the half-mile. Diabolical Dame took over in the stretch, and went on to cover the distance over a track rated fast in 1:17.63.
Aldo Arboleda was aboard for trainer Todd Fincher.
