SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – She Feels Pretty, the leading female turf horse in North America, was entered Wednesday in Saturday’s Grade 1, $750,000 E.P. Taylor at Woodbine and will most likely run there instead of waiting for the Grade 2, $500,000 Flower Bowl on Aug. 30 at Saratoga, trainer Cherie DeVaux said Wednesday.
“We had both races open on the table and we were just leaving it up to her to decide which race,” DeVaux said. “She’s training extremely well right now. I just didn’t want to wait too long for the Flower Bowl.”
DeVaux also believes that She Feels Pretty is better on firm ground, and the Toronto weather forecast is favorable for those circumstances to be in play Saturday.
“I just don’t want to wait on a missed opportunity in case Mother Nature doesn’t cooperate,” DeVaux said.
She Feels Pretty had a four-race winning streak snapped when she was beaten a head by Excellent Truth in the Grade 1 Diana on July 12. Prior to that, she had won four consecutive graded stakes, including the Grade 1 New York at Saratoga this year.
Overall, She Feels Pretty is 7 for 11 with two seconds and two thirds.
