WHO'S HOT: Cause to Believe, the El Camino Real Derby winner, was the first alternate last week, and he moved onto the Derby Watch top 25 list this week when space became available. He is 40-1 on the Kentucky Derby future line set by Mike Watchmaker, Daily Racing Form's national handicapper. Lawyer Ron, who captured the Southwest Stakes, is down to 25-1 after being 30-1 last week. Steppenwolfer, the Southwest runner-up, is down to 40-1 from last week's 60-1.

WHO'S NOT: Music School was dropped from the top 25 after finishing fourth in the Southwest. To balance his line to reflect the price adjustments on Lawyer Ron and Steppenwolfer, Watchmaker raised Private Vow from 12-1 to 15-1.

ON THE BUBBLE: Recent maiden winner Mister Triester has a chance to move onto the list if he continues his development in the Santa Catalina Stakes on Saturday at Santa Anita. Another Santa Catalina starter, Objective, was second to Cause to Believe in the El Camino Real Derby. Refinery was a sharp allowance winner last Saturday at Santa Anita. At Gulfstream Park, where six members of the top 25 are competing in the Fountain of Youth Stakes on Saturday, Hemingway's Key and Rehoboth will try to show they belong in that august company.
