Den’s Legacy, Mr. Nightlinger to Mighty Acres Farm in Oklahoma

DRF Breeding Staff|Oct 24, 2016

Grade 3 winner Den’s Legacy has been retired from racing and will debut at Mighty Acres Farm in Pryor, Okla., joining prominent Oklahoma sire Mr. Nightlinger, who relocates to the farm for the 2017 breeding season.

Mr. Nightlinger will stand for an advertised fee of $2,000, while a fee for Den’s Legacy will be announced at a later time.

Den’s Legacy, a 6-year-old son of Medaglia d’Oro, retires with four wins in 39 starts for earnings of $692,917. He won the Grade 3 Generous Stakes at Hollywood Park as a juvenile, and placed in 11 additional stakes, including the Grade 1 CashCall Futurity and the Grade 2 Robert B. Lewis Stakes, La Jolla Handicap, Rebel Stakes, and Del Mar Derby.

The horse raced for Westrock Stables throughout his career, and was trained by Bob Baffert and Ron Moquett.

Bred in Florida by Gaye Swartz, Den’s Legacy is out of the unraced War Chant mare Sunshine Song, who is the dam of two winners from four foals to race. His extended family includes Grade 1 winner C. S. Silk, and Grade 3 winners Remember Sheikh and Victorina.

The deal to stand Den’s Legacy at Mighty Acres was brokered by Chad Schumer of Schumer Bloodstock

Mr. Nightlinger moves to Mighty Acres from JEH Stallion Station in Purcell, Okla.

The 12-year-old son of Indian Charlie has sired four crops of racing age, with 58 winners and earnings in excess of $2 million. His leading runners include stakes winners Lingerlonger and stakes-placed runners Lingering Smoke, Mr. N, Chestnut Johnny, Here Comes Valdez, J J’s Forever, Fast Chance, and Ritzyrags.

Mr. Nightlinger won 10 of 25 starts racing from ages 3 through 5 and earned $644,355, highlighted by victories in the Aegon Turf Sprint and Shakertown Stakes, both Grade 3.

He is out of the unplaced Time for a Change mare Timely Quarrel, whose eight winners from 10 foals to race includes stakes winner Diferentkindagreat and stakes-placed Prosico and Lover’s Spat. The extended family includes Grade 1 winner Lets Dont Fight, Grade/Group 2 winners Suivi and Kainat and Grade 3 winners Fuzzy, Fight Over, and Waterway Run.
