Delta: Soot is chalk in Cocodrie

Soot is the horse most likely to become a stakes winner Saturday night in the $40,000 Cocodrie, a 6 1/2-furlong race for Louisiana-breds who have never won a stakes. Also in the Cocodrie is Sanctuary's Omooni, who is shooting for his fourth straight win.

Soot, who will break from the rail, was a wire-to-wire winner in his last two starts. In his most recent race, Soot won an optional claimer against open company and earned a 91 Beyer Speed Figure, the top number among all starters in the Cocodrie.
