Delta Downs: Misty Glo wins Gardenia

Misty Glo ($29) became a stakes winner on Friday night when she rallied from well back to win the $40,000 Gardenia by 2 1/2 lengths over Sheza Diva at Delta Downs in Vinton, La. It was a head back in third to Notrestrainable.

Misty Glo settled in sixth early in the 6 1/2-furlong race for fillies and mares, while Notrestrainable led the field through fractions of 24.45 seconds for the opening quarter, 48.51 for the half-mile, and 1:15.28 for six furlongs. Misty Glo took over from there and darted clear in the stretch run, covering the distance, which was run around two turns, in 1:22.29.

Jill Kinsey rode Misty Glo for Rowell Enterprises and trainer Thomas Sam.

The win was Misty Glo's fifth in 15 starts. She has now earned $99,938.
