Delta Downs: Acorn returns to favorite distance for Miss Polly

Acorn, who won the Grade 1 Challenge Championship Quarter Horse Derby last November at Fair Grounds, will return to the 400-yard distance of that race Sunday for the Grade 3, $50,000 Miss Polly Classic at Delta Downs.

The field also includes Wrs Special Shoe, an earner of more than $800,000, and Charal Kid, who took the Grade 3 Develop a Plan Stakes at Delta in his last start May 23.

Acorn has raced at 440 yards in his last two starts, finishing second in the Grade 2 Texas Challenge Championship at Sam Houston in March, and third in the Grade 2 Sam Houston Classic in May. Last year, the Janet Van Bebber-trained Acorn won four stakes at 400 yards.
