Delta: Big fig horse in Beau

If Britt's Jules repeats the 96 Beyer Figure he earned winning an allowance in his most recent start, then Saturday night's $40,000 Delta Beau at Delta Downs in Vinton, La., will be a race for second. If he does not, the five-furlong stakes for 2-year-olds will be flung wide open, with at least four others in the seven-horse field capable of winning.

Kipper's Night, who invades from Calder Race Course, is as a stakes winner of $80,150. Also in the field is the undefeated All Disco, who is making his stakes debut, and maiden Tricky Touch, who was claimed for $62,500 last out at Hollywood Park.

The one they all have to beat, however, is Britt's Jules, who raced close to a hot pace and then pulled away for a 5 1/2-length win in a conditioned allowance at Delta in his last start Nov. 5. Trainer Christopher Angelle has given the mount to R.A. Stokes III.
