Delaware: Running Tide rolls

Running Tide ran his record to 5-0, winning the Grade 3, $250,000 Leonard Richards Stakes for 3-year-olds at Delaware Park by three-quarters of a length over 13-1 shot Nothing Flat. The Sewickley Kid, 20-1, was another neck back in third.

Easyfromthegitgo went off as the 4-5 favorite but ran a bad-trip fourth. Running Tide, ridden by Ramon Dominguez, bid three wide in fifth after five furlongs, swept to the lead leaving the furlong marker, and was fully extended to prevail. He ran the 1 1/16 miles in 1:45 and paid $8.60.

The Richards was Running Tide's third race since May 12. "I am going to give him at least five weeks off," said the colt's trainer, Rodney Jenkins.
