Delaware riders sore but OK

Doug McCoy|Jun 29, 2005

Jockeys Ramon Dominguez and Terry Warner were released from a Stanton, Del., hospital late Tuesday after being involved in a spill during the afternoon's sixth race at Delaware Park. Both men, as well as jockey Jose Caraballo, who was also involved in the incident, took off their scheduled mounts Wednesday.

The three were tossed to the ground in a chain reaction after Dominguez's mount, Cole's a Warrior, went down midway on the turn of the six-furlong race.

Caraballo walked away from the incident, but his agent, Joe French, said the jockey took off Wednesday's mounts because he was "pretty sore."

Plans for Dominguez's return are day to day, as he was heavily bruised. Warner is expected to be available to ride this weekend.
