Delaware Park: Service for Ten wins Moscarelli off layoff

STANTON, Del. - Finding room along the rail a furlong out, Service for Ten came off a five-month layoff in winning form to capture the $50,000 Vincent Moscarelli Memorial Handicap by 2 1/2 lengths in near-track-record time Saturday at Delaware Park.

Under a well-judged ride by Daniel Centeno, Service for Ten was content to race along in last in the five-horse field as Hamiltonian cut a blistering fractions of 21.34 and 44.50 seconds, then was able to find racing room along the inner rail in midstretch and wrest command from the early leader. Final time for the 5 1/2 furlongs was 1:02.71, just .11 of a second off the track standard of 1:02.59.

Hamiltonian was clearly second-best, three lengths to the good of Cop a Tude, with Back Forty fourth.

Trained by Damon Dilodovico, Service for Ten returned $6.40.
