Delaware Park: Racing official Alice Marcacci dies

Alice Marcacci, the stakes coordinator at Delaware Park, died Friday at South Jersey Regional Medical Center after suffering a stroke. She had recently been at home recuperating from foot surgery. Marcacci was 67.

Marcacci, a resident of Vineland, N.J., also worked as a racing official at tracks in Maryland, New Jersey, and Virginia. She regularly worked at Pimlico during the Preakness Stakes and in her free time volunteered with the Boys & Girls Club of America. Marcacci is survived by a son, and a granddaughter.

Visitation for Marcacci will be held from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at Rone Funeral Service, 1110 E. Chestnut Ave., in Vineland. There will be a second visitation from 8:15 to 9:15 a.m. Thursday. The funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Christ the Good Shepherd Parish-Church of the Sacred Heart, 1010 E. Landis Ave., Vineland.
