Delaware: Misto Quente wins three-way photo

Misto Quente could not have had a more fortuitous finish in the $100,000 Kelso at Delaware Park, catching the pacesetting Angelic Aura by a head in the final jump while simultaneously holding off the fast-closing We Can Seek by a head and a nose.

Auguri, the even-money favorite, pressed the pace for a half-mile in the 1 3/16-mile race, then dropped back and finished last in the field of six.

Misto Quente, coming off a second-place finish behind Auguri in his previous start, went off as the fourth choice in the betting and paid $15.80.

Trained by Bobby Frankel and ridden by Jose Lezcano, Misto Quente was timed in 1:57.82 over wet-fast going.

It was a tough loss for both Angelic Aura, who at 14-1 led every step except the last one or two, and We Can Seek, the 5-2 second-choice who moved from fifth place on the turn and finished in a flurry to miss narrowly.
