Delaware: Jaramar Rain mops up

Jaramar Rain ($6) found easier pickings for the same purse money when she scratched out of Saturday's Obeah Handicap to run 24 hours later in the $100,000 New Castle Handicap at Delaware Park.

Eight of the fillies and mares from the original field scratched when the 1 1/8-mile New Castle was moved from the turf to the main track, leaving Jaramar Rain to face just three opponents. Ridden by Rodrigo Madrigal Jr. for trainer Rusty Arnold, Jaramar Rain romped to a five-length win over Alternate, the 3-5 favorite.
