Delaware: Greenstreet prevails late

The early money that temporarily made Greenstreet the even-money favorite was right on target in the $60,050 Polly's Jet Stakes at Delaware Park.

Although the Todd Pletcher-trained Perfect Forest went off as the 4-5 choice in the 1 1/16-mile race for 3-year-old fillies, she faded to third after setting the pace to the eighth pole.

Instead, it was another New York-based filly, Greenstreet ($9.20) who earned her first stakes victory by running down 9-2 third choice Bees in deep stretch by a neck, covering the distance in 1:44.14.

The victory enabled jockey Mario Pino to tie Jerry Bailey for 15th on the all-time victory list with 5,894.

Trained by Barclay Tagg, Greenstreet was making her first start since finishing second over Aqueduct's inner track in the National Treasure on March 25. She is now 3 for 6 lifetime.
