Delaware: Euro Code romps to first stakes win

Euro Code ($3.80) easily handled his first stakes assignment by leading wire to wire in a 7 1/2-length victory over four other 3-year-old sprinters in the $58,100 Oh Say at Delaware Park.

Ridden by Jeremy Rose for trainer Scott Lake, Euro Code had scored a similarly easy victory to clear his first allowance condition two races ago, but was narrowly beaten by Pointsman five weeks ago in a two-other-than allowance.

Pointsman, the 8-5 second choice after winning back-to-back races, was edged out for second this time, finishing a head behind Captain Corelli.

Euro Code ran the six furlongs on a fast track in 1:09.86.
