Delaware County Fair: Workin Ona Mystery, Prospect Hill deliver in Standardbred divisions

Among the Little Brown Jug undercard stakes on Thursday afternoon at the Delaware County Fair were a pair of Standardbred splits for rookie colt and gelding trotters and pacers.
Only three horses met up in the $40,418 flight for pacers, and trainer Brian Brown finished first and second. Brown's Air Force Hanover (David Miller) showed the way through hot fractions of 27, 54 3/5, and 1:22 2/5, but stablemate Workin Ona Mystery (Tim Tetrick) kept up in the pocket, angled out, and came on to win by a length and a half in 1:50 3/5. Highlandbeachlover (Aaron Merriman) followed in for third.
Workin On Mystery is a Captaintreacherous-Dragon's Tale (Dragon Again) colt owned by James Stambaugh, Alan Keith, Milt Leeman, and Wingfield Brothers LLC. He has now won all three of his starts and pushed his earnings to $33,000. Sent off at even-money, he paid $4.20 to win.
A bulkier field of nine met up in the $48,218 dash for male trotters, and Osterc (Yannick Gingras), the Pennsylvania Sire Stakes champion, worked his way up into the lead at the 28-second opening quarter, but then he made a break on the first turn, leaving early leader Final Claim (Mike Wilder) back on the lead.
Prospect Hill (Andy Miller) improved from third to second after Osterc broke, and then he made his move into command passing the 57 3/5 half. Prospect Hill would continue to show the way to three-quarters in 1:26 1/5, and a 29-second final kicker got him to the finish line 2 1/2 lengths ahead of Final Claim in 1:55 1/5, which was just a tick off the world record. Kate's Massive (Ray Paver) took third.
A Muscle Hill-Louise Kemp (Crazed) colt, Prospect Hill is trained by Julie Miller for owner Stroy Inc. Prospect Hill, who has a record of 7-0-1 from nine attempts and a bankroll of $182,342, was also dispatched at even-money and also returned $4.20 to win.
