Delaware County Fair: Sunny Crockett shines in Old Oaken Bucket

Sunny Crockett took advantage of a pole position draw and scored a 1:58 2/5 victory in the $87,700 Old Oaken Bucket for 3-year-old colt and gelding trotters on Thursday afternoon at the Delaware County Fair.
Driven by co-owner Andy Miller, Sunny Crockett stepped out quickly from the inside and tipped out of the two-hole to take the lead away from Goodashim (Yannick Gingras) after the 28 4/5 opening quarter. Sunny Crockett then backed down the half to just 59 3/5 before he had to pick up the pace to deal with Mon Amour (Tim Tetrick), who went first-over out of third.
Mon Amour got the cold shoulder from Sunny Crockett to the 1:28 3/5 three-quarters and around the far turn, and Sunny Crockett responded when Miller called on him through the stretch to win by a length. Mon Amour stayed on-stride in the lane despite throwing in some steps to finish second, and Swingforthefences (Peter Wrenn) checked in third from second-over.
