Rose Run Yolanda and Rose Run Yanae gave breeder Rose Run Farm a sweep of the two $59,057 Ohio Breeders Championship clashes for 2-year-old trotting fillies on Wednesday afternoon at the Delaware County Fair. Driven by Trevor Smith, Rose Run Yolanda got into the pocket behind Swinging Senorita (Anthony MacDonald) coming to the 27 4/5 opening quarter when Victoria Leigh (Kurt Sugg), who had been in the two-hole, made a break. Swinging Senorita kept the top spot through a 59 second half, but Smith brought Rose Run Yolanda to the outside on the third turn and forged her way by Swinging Senorita approaching the 1:28 1/5 three-quarters. It was all Rose Run Yolanda after that, as she drew off to win by 4 3/4 lengths, with Swinging Senorita second and Contechsfashion (Aaron Merriman) third. A Triumphant Caviar-Rose Run Keepsake filly, Rose Run Yolanda trained by Todd Luther for owner Black Magic Racing LLC. She was acquired for $50,000 at the 2021 Ohio Selected Jug Sale, has a record of 5-1-0 from six starts and has earned $140,528. She returned $3.00 to win as the 1-2 choice. ► Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter In the other OBC division Global Girl (Don Irvine Jr.) clicked off opening-half fractions of 27 1/5 and 56 2/5, but Rose Run Yanae (Chris Page) vacated the pocket to go after her en route to the 1:25 three-quarters. Rose Run Yanae and Global Girl battled to the wire in a 29 3/5 last quarter, but Rose Run Yanae had the better kick and scored by a neck in 1:54 3/5. Global Girl was next, followed by Truly Relentless (Chris Lems). Ron Burke trains Rose Run Yanae, a daughter of Triumphant Caviar-Stonebridge Dancer, for owners Burke Racing Stable LLC., Hatfield Stables, Knox Services Inc., and Weaver Bruscemi LLC. Rose Run Yanae, a $90,000 buy at last year's Ohio Selected Jug Sale, won for the second time in her seventh try, pushed her bankroll to $77,788, and paid $6.20 to win as the 2-1 second choice.
