Ohio Breeders Championship contests at the Delaware (Ohio) County Fair concluded on Thursday afternoon with splits for 2-year-old male pacers, 2-year-old colt and gelding trotters, 3-year-old male pacers and 3-year-old pacing fillies.
The $72,500 tests for the rookie pacing colts and geldings went to Bars And Notes (by Racing Hill and bred by R. Kevin Greenfield and Michael Creps, paid $23.60 to win) in 1:53 1/5 for driver Tyler Smith, co-owner/trainer Joseph Lucas and co-owner At The Wire Farms and the now seven-for-seven in 2024 Rick Wink (by Bit Of A Legend N and bred by Larry Miller, paid $2.10 to win) in 1:50 2/5 (just two-fifths of a second off the world record) for driver Chris Page, trainer Ron Burke and owners Burke Racing Stable LLC., R A S Racing LLC., Knox Services Inc. and J&T Silva- Purnel & Libby.
A pair of $65,600 sections for 3-year-old male pacers saw victories taken by Janelle Granny (by Fear The Dragon, bred by Larry Miller, paid $5.20 to win) in 1:49 4/5 for driver Dexter Dunn, trainer Virgil Morgan Jr. and owner Betty Clegg and Outer Banks (by Downbytheseaside, bred by Frank Nanna, paid $4.80 to win) in 1:52 1/5 for driver Chris Page, trainer Ron Burke and owners Burke Racing Stable LLC., R A S Racing LLC., J&T Silva- Purnel & Libby and Weaver Bruscemi LLC.

Spaaaanzano (by Coraggioso and bred by Timothy Stutzman) led at every call and bagged the $115,200 3-year-old male trot in 1:53 2/5 with Aaron Merriman driving for co-owners Spaaaartners, Bill Manes and Leo Fleming.
Lastly, Calypso Pearl (by Fear The Dragon and bred by owner Sandra Burnett, paid $8.60 to win) was a 1:51 2/5 victor in the $118,200 3-year-old filly pace. Dan Noble steered the half-sister to $1.2 million earner and former Breeders Crown Open Pace champion for trainer Christi Noble.
