DEL MAR, Calif. – The cancellation of racing last weekend at Del Mar has resulted in 11-race cards for Friday and Saturday, with seven stakes now to be run Friday through Sunday, and a Monday card added for July 27.

Friday’s stakes are the $125,000 Fleet Treat going seven furlongs for California-bred 3-year-old fillies, including Been Studying Her and Smiling Shirlee, and the $65,000 Daisycutter at five furlongs on turf for female sprinters, including Stealthediamonds and Tomlin.

Saturday’s biggest race is the Grade 2, $150,000 San Diego Handicap, which was postponed by one week and marks the local debut of Maximum Security, last year’s champion 3-year-old male, with Higher Power and Midcourt among his challengers going 1 1/16 miles. Sharp Samurai, who worked a half-mile in 48 seconds on Monday, is entered in the San Diego, but as was the plan going into last weekend, trainer Mark Glatt said he is likely to stay on turf for the Grade 2, $200,000 Eddie Read, a 1 1/8-mile race that was postponed by one week and will be run Sunday.

Also Saturday is the Grade 2, $150,000 San Clemente at one mile on turf for 3-year-old fillies, including Laura’s Light and Warren’s Showtime, and the $65,000 Smiling Tiger for 3-year-old sprinters, including Ragtime Blues and Vertical Threat.

In addition to Sharp Samurai, the Eddie Read is expected to include Bowie’s Hero, who worked five furlongs on turf in 1:00.40 on Sunday for trainer Phil D’Amato. Sunday’s card also includes the $125,000 California Dreamin’ at 1 1/16 miles on turf for California-breds, with Galilean, who worked five furlongs on turf in 1:01 on Sunday, among the candidates.

◗ There were 282 works on Sunday – 241 on the main track, 41 on grass – including five-furlong penultimate drills for stakes by Honor A. P. (1:02.60) and Hard Not to Love (1:01). Trained by John Shirreffs, Honor A. P. runs in the Shared Belief Aug. 1, and Hard Not to Love in the Grade 1 Clement Hirsch Aug. 2.is like
