Del Mar: Pick six pays $57,967 to 20 ticketholders

DEL MAR, Calif. – The pick six paid $57,967 to 20 ticketholders at Del Mar on Wednesday, a day when two favorites won pick-six races and another was disqualified from first to third.

The winners of Wednesday’s pick-six races were Calameera ($7.40), Bas ($20.60), Tiz a Kiss ($7.20), Unbridled Giant ($6.20), Sirocco Strike ($16.40), and Dolphin Shorts ($15.20).

Tiz a Kiss and Unbridled Giant were favored. Distinctiv Passion, the 5-2 favorite, finished first in the seventh race, the Green Flash Handicap, but was disqualified and placed third for causing interference in the stretch. As a result, Sirocco Strike was promoted to first.

The pick six began Wednesday with a carryover of $255,708 from Sunday. Bettors added $1,687,187. By comparison, the pick-six pool of new money reached $1,486,696 on Aug. 7 on a day that began with a carryover of $265,129 from Aug. 4.
