DEL MAR PICK 3 by Brad Free (Races 1-3)
While the Sunday card looks short on value, the first pick three (races 1-3) might be decent due to the perceived vulnerability of the most heavily favored horse in the sequence, Coconut Cream Pie in race 3.
Race 1 is a sprint for 2-year-old maiden fillies. SECRET COMPASS (#1, 2-1) ran better than looked in her debut. She should move up a ton with blinkers on. She is a “single”
Race 2 is a wide-open claimer for 3-year-old sprinters with eight entrants. Use “all.”
Race 3 includes Coconut Cream Pie, the “most likely” winner at an unattractive price. Instead, the pick-three play will use three overlays. They are second-timer CHUMASH (#2, 6-1), stretch-out KELDY (#4, 4-1) and second-timer TIZ ZOE CEE (#8, 10-1).
The suggested pick-3 play:
1 w “all” w 2, 4, 8 = $24.
