Del Mar Keys, B's and C's: August 25

DRF Staff|Aug 24, 2013

DMR Pick 3 (Races 7-9) by Michael Hammersly

Race 7

Keys Goldencents, Handsome Mike

B’s No Silent, Morning Line

C’s Fed Biz, Drill

GOLDENCENTS (#3, 5-2) ran too good to lose when 2nd in the G1 Bing Crosby. That stamps him the one to beat and a big bullet 6f move here Aug. 17 (1:11.60) says he holds his edge. HANDSOME MIKE (#7, 15-1) ran his best race under similar circumstances when he won the G3 Commonwealth at KEE (7fs, Polytrack). He’s been freshened and could be the upsetter. NO SILENT (#11, 12-1) looked good winning here and continues trending north. MORNING LINE (SCR) desperately needed his last after over a year on the bench and a return to top form makes him scary.

Race 8

Keys Zanbo, Lilbourne Eliza

B’s Lady’s Plan

C’s Warren’s Flasher, Mary Fildes

ZANBO (#5, 7-2) was freshened a coupe months and came back firing to win nicely here Aug. 2. It’s a tough crowd to be sure but she’s now 2 for 3 here and looks ready to go up the ladder. LILBOURNE ELIZA (#3, 3-1) found the G2 San Clemente waters too deep but today’s drop can be key and she’s reunited with Flores who was up for her 2 best U.S. outings. LADY’S PLAN (#10, 5-1) continues her sharp form and has the versatility to give her rider options.

Race 9

Keys Game on Dude, Kettle Corn

B’s Dullahan, Jeranimo

C’s Delegation

GAME ON DUDE (#11, 5-2) is the proven commodity and no doubt the one to beat. KETTLE CORN (#7, 6-1) scared ‘DUDE in the G1 Hollywood Gold Cup, looked good winning the G2 San Diego here and may get a great pace set-up. DULLAHAN (#9, 7-2) is back to defend his title and you know he likes it here and handles the trip. JERANIMO (#12, 10-1) can be scary if he can transfer that fine turf form to this.
