It would be nice to say that it's been fun. That would be a lie. It is never fun being embarrassed day after day after day.

I could swing for the fences the final week in a Hail Mary attempt at breaking even. I won't do that, either.

The final week of the meet will be similar to the first six weeks. That is, attempting to identify overlays.

Race 1

Tiz Us is the best speed in this $25,000 claimer around two turns. Tiz Us wins more than his share (4 of his last 9), and he meets less speed that his last two starts. With an aggressive ride from Juan Ochoa, Tiz Us can race gate to wire.

His program odds are 6-1. He is a bet at 4-1.

Race 6

Hot Grip won a $12,500 claiming race at Bay Meadows last out with a speed figure (80 Beyer) that indicates he is rounding back into form. He has run fast enough on several occasions to win a Calbred N1X turf route, and with slight improvement he is qualified to spring another in a career of upsets.

Hot Grip is listed at an absurd 20-1 in the program. He won't be that high. He is a bet at 9-1 or higher.

The bet: $20 win Hot Grip (minimum odds 9-1).

Race 7

Sharoana may have been short when she finished third in the CTBA Stakes early this month. She shows three good works over the track since then, and can win it out front. Sharoana is 4-1 in the program, and a bet at 3-1.

The bet: $20 win Sharoana (minimum odds 3-1).
