Del Mar internet plays for Friday

Here is a quick review of the first two days of the week, starting Wednesday.

Tiz Us set a wicked pace in race 1 and hit a wall the far turn; he started at 8-1. Hot Grip had a nightmare trip under Omar Cedeno in race 6, and finished off the board at 24-1. He is worth a playback. Sharoana set a fast pace in race 7 and tired to third at 2.70-1. The minimum odds were 3-1, so it was $20 saved. Wednesday's loss was $40.

Thursday provided momentary thrills. In race 1, One Sock Wonder finished second at odds of 9-2. The problem is he has no speed, and was never in contention. In race 5, Forbidden Fight popped the gate and made the lead at 15-1, but he was finished before the field hit the stretch. Thursday's loss was $50.

On to the Friday card.

Race 3

A familiar cast of maiden-claimers show up in this five and a half-furlong sprint, and if there is a longshot winner hiding somewhere it could be Marty Jones-trained second-timer Hunting Queen. She broke from the rail and showed little in her debut, but Jones-trained maidens often move up. Hunting Queen gets off the rail and drops in class.

Hunting Queen is 15-1 in the program, and worth a bet at 9-1.

The bet: $25 win Hunting Queen (minimum odds 9-1)

Race 8

Tables From Lisa was given a passive ride first out, and rallied up the fence while given zero encouragement from her rider. She gets a half-furlong farther to run, adds blinkers, and switches to a stronger rider for her second start.

Tables from Lisa is 8-1 in the program, and a bet at 6-1 or higher.

The bet: $25 win Tables from Lisa (minimum odds 6-1).
