Del Mar closing day features mandatory pick 6 payout
DEL MAR, Calif. - The 20-cent Rainbow pick six has a mandatory payout on Sunday’s closing day of the Del Mar summer meeting, and begins with a carryover of $166,281 from Saturday.
The pool of new money on Sunday may exceed $2 million.
The pick six covers the sixth through 11th races on a program that begins at 1 p.m., Pacific.
The sequence of races in the pick six consists of a maiden special weight race for 2-year-old sprinters, an allowance race at five furlongs on turf, a maiden special weight race for fillies and mares at 6 1/2 furlongs, the Grade 3 Del Mar Juvenile Turf at a mile, the Grade 1 Del Mar Futurity at seven furlongs and a starter allowance at 1 1/16 miles on turf.
