Del Mar carryover analysis

DEL MAR, Calif. - No one hit the pick six on Monday at Del Mar, so there is a carryover of $120,587 into Wednesday's races. The pick six runs from races three through eight. Here are some things to consider in those races:

3rd race - THE PRICE SPIRIT had a brutal trip last time, now moves back to turf, over which he broke his maiden. DECARCHY, a half-brother to Chester House and Honest Lady, makes his North American debut for red-hot Bobby Frankel barn.

4th race - A pretty weak bunch. HONOR QUEEN was well-bet in debut, makes second start for a barn that does well under those circumstances. Drawn well, too. POOH BEAR might improve for new connections. FLYING WITH MIMI isn't much, but is best of those with recent form.

5th race - SLEW SUMMER appears to be well-meant first time out with Flores riding. ENJOY LIFE and SHE DANCE SO SO are best of those with races over the track.

6th race - BASTION has run four strong races since being claimed. Has good post, and contending early speed. SHARP LOOKING DUDE finishes furiously, might prefer turf. Taking a stand here against SWORDFISH, the second choice on the morning line, who seems off his game of late and has a poor Tomlinson turf figure.

7th race - WHITEWINESIPPER has sharp speed and a cozy outside post. BRITETONZMYDAY has won 3 of 5, so she's a must use in a soft Cal-bred stake.

8th race - EVENING MEETING was second in a similar spot, but she's had plenty of chances already. You have to use her, but she's no standout. SURYA makes local debut for Frankel, gets first-time Lasix, too. Potential bomber is MILAGRA, who is 12-1 on the morning line. Has a poor post, but last two both were excellent efforts.
