Del Mar average all-sources handle up 9 percent
DEL MAR, Calif.– Boosted by out-of-state handle, Del Mar has shown growth in all-sources handle through the first three weeks of the summer meeting.
Through Sunday, average all-sources handle, including ontrack, simulcasting, and account-wagering sources, reached $13,617,082, a gain of 9.2 percent over the average of $12,470,772 during the corresponding period at the 2017 meeting, according to figures provided by the track.
Interstate handle, which includes account wagering from other states, has averaged $7,199,754, a gain of 16.9 percent over the average of $6,158,508 during the first three weeks of the 2017 meeting.
Ontrack average handle has fallen slightly, from $1,736,728 to $1,734,097.
Ontrack average attendance has dropped 4.3 percent, from 14,413 in 2017 to 13,799.
The 36-day meeting began July 18 and continues through Sept. 3.
