Barbara D. Livingston Del Mar has received approval for a 31-day meeting from July 18 to Sept. 7.

Del Mar is adding three new bets to its extensive wagering menu this summer, all of which have been in place at times during the current Santa Anita meeting.

The track will offer a 50-cent middle pick four on the fourth through seventh races, a $3 pick three on the final three races, and a $5 double on the last two races, according to documents submitted to the California Horse Racing Board.

The track received approval from the racing board on Thursday for a 31-day meeting from July 18 to Sept. 7.

The late pick three and late double will have takeout rates of 15 percent, below the standard rates of 23.68 percent and 20 percent for other pick three and daily doubles wagers offered. Santa Anita began offering a $3 pick three on the final three races and a $5 double on the final two races last fall.

Santa Anita has offered a middle pick four on recent programs with 10 or more races, holding the bet on the fourth through seventh races on 10-race programs and the fifth through eighth races on 11-race programs.

Del Mar has reduced the distances of four $100,000 stakes for California-bred 2-year-olds for the upcoming meeting. The four races are the first stakes for statebreds this year.

The CTBA Stakes for fillies on Aug. 3 and the Graduation Stakes on Aug. 8 will be run at five furlongs. The races were previously run at 5 1/2 furlongs. Meanwhile, the Generous Portion Stakes for fillies on Sept. 1 and the I’m Smokin Stakes on Sept. 5 will be run at 5 1/2 furlongs instead of six furlongs.
