Del Mar $143,683 carryover for Thursday

DEL MAR, Calif. - An upset win by Run Thruthe Sun ($57.60) in Wednesday's last race has led to a carryover of $143,683 for Thursday's pick six at Del Mar. Thursday's pick six covers the third through eighth races.

Here is a look at the pick six races. The first race of the day begins at 2 p.m.

The third race is a sprint for 3-year-olds entered for claiming prices ranging from $22,500 to $25,000. In a field of seven, Brand Name, Ended, and Watch Me Smoke are top contenders.

The fourth race is the first of two turf races in the pick six. Run for California-bred fillies and mares, the race is over 1 1/16 miles on turf. The field was reduced to 10 with the scratch of Appeal Denied. Her entrymate Far From Frail is the 5-2 morning-line favorite. Celia Fate, Lady Danish, Sheer Excess, and The General's Lady are other contenders.

The fifth race is a sprint for claiming fillies and mares over 6 1/2 furlongs. Carla Rose and Nellie L form an entry that is 2-1 on the morning line. Princess E (3-1) and She's Movin On (7-2) will receive support.

There are eight 3-year-old fillies entered in the one-mile sixth race for $18,000 to $20,000 claimers. There is no standout, although Best in the Storm (3-1), Wild Senorita (7-2) and Dubai Dolly (4-1) are top contenders.

The featured seventh race, an optional claimer for fillies and mares over a mile on turf, was reduced to seven with the scratch of Magnificant Val. Belleski, a graded stakes winner last year, is a standout and figures to be the shortest price in the pick six sequence. She had a troubled trip in her comeback at this meeting following a layoff.

The final race sports a field of 12 following the scratches of Miss Perfect Me and Aircobra from the also-eligible list. Run over 1 1/16 miles for maiden claimers, the race includes Glow of Love, Port of Trieste and Greek Tranquility.
