Race 1: The Pearce Memorial Challenge Cup Plate

#6 Shining Red steps out on debut for Douglas Whyte and Jerry Chau, who on Thursday afternoon, collected a double in tandem at Sha Tin. Suspect their good fortune can continue here with this son of Exceed And Excel on debut. He has a bit of talent. #1 California Spangle was a tidy first-up winner. He can continue on with his progression here, as can #2 Toronado Phantom, another debut winner and in his favour is that he does have form getting around a bend. #5 Great King is next best.

Race 2: The Purves Quaich Handicap

#9 Sky Gem steps out for the in-form Caspar Fownes yard. He’s a last-start winner who looks hard to beat with Joao Moreira engaged. #7 Cheerful Star steps out from gate five. He has ability and looks the main threat over these distances. #2 Hay Run is competitive in his spot. Don’t discount although the big weight makes things difficult. #4 Amazing Agility is racing well. He’ll be thereabouts once again.

Race 3: The Swaine Cup Handicap

#4 This Is Charisma closed off for an eye-catching eighth last time out. Suspect he can improve further and prove difficult to reel in. #1 Breeze Of Spring steps down to Class 5. He gets the services of Joao Moreria which warrants respect, especially as he makes his third start for Caspar Fownes. #2 Golden Four is better than his record suggests and with the right run he is worth considering. #10 Fox Cheunger is after back-to-back wins. He can figure again in Class 5.

Race 4: The Wong Cup Handicap

#10 Everyone’s Victory closed nicely for third last time out. If he can offset the wide gate then he’s a big chance to snag a first Hong Kong win. #3 Handsome Rebel is competitive in his spot and the engagement of Karis Teetan bears close watching. #2 Eight Trigrams is a two-time course and distance winner. He gets his chance from gate three. #11 Steel Win is next best. Joao Moreira hops up and he commands respect.

Race 5: The Li Cup Handicap

#1 Dashing Fit is looking for back-to-back wins after his brilliant first-up performance. He appears capable of collecting another here as he remains in Class 4 over the course and distance. #7 Coolceleb mixes his form but is proven over this trip on this surface. He’s worth including. #4 Lucky Ruby can roll forward and play catch me if you can. Suspect the good draw will help him in a big, big way. #3 Untold Riches is next best with added improvement.

Race 6: The Arculli Trophy Handicap

#6 Robot Warrior gets the blinkers first time to sharpen him up. Suspect he can go on with here off the back of two solid efforts over the course and distance. #3 Fast Pace is a solid customer and he commands respect in this grade. #8 Free Foal won well two starts ago. Zac Purton hops up now and he only needs to offset the awkward gate to be competitive here. #11 Pearl Champion gets his chance from gate three. He’s worth respecting.

Race 7: The Chan Trophy Handicap

#3 Zone D mixes his form but is a course and distance winner with Blake Shinn in the plate. Suspect gate one will help him big time and this field doesn’t appear to possess any standouts. #1 Flying Victory is the class-dropper. He has ability and deserves respect as a winner in Class 3. #2 Love Me More is a one-time winner in Hong Kong. He won’t be too far away. #4 Pure Legend is progressing towards a first win. Alfie Chan takes seven pounds off which enhances his claims.

Race 8: The Stevenson Cup Handicap

#3 Czarson is racing well. He was a five length course and distance winner earlier this campaign who should get the right run from gate eight under Karis Teetan. #2 Sight Success steps onto the dirt for the first time. He’s trialled well on the surface and is expected to handle it come Sunday. #7 Gunnison is a grand campaigner. He’ll be worth supporting on an each way basis in this grade and he’s found himself sat firmly on a winnable mark. #12 Resolute is next best with no weight on his back.

Race 9: The Ip Jug Handicap

#12 Mister Snowdon caught the eye when finishing fifth on debut. He looks like he has above average ability and the only hindrance is the awkward gate. #10 The Crown is nearing a first Hong Kong win. Caspar Fownes and Joao Moreira have been on fire all season and this guy has logged a number of competitive efforts. The right run from gate seven will give him his chance. #5 Master Montaro can finish off and be competitive. He’s a two-time winner in Hong Kong who will be rattling home late. #3 Californiadeepshot is next best.

Race 10: The Chow Silver Plate Handicap

#2 C P Brave is developing into a very nice little horse. He’s notched two very competitive efforts and with a clean run home here, he looks more than capable of getting a first Hong Kong win. #1 California Ten is as honest as they come. If the wide gate can be offset then another bold run can be expected. #13 Charge On is looking to snap consecutive runner-up efforts. He gets in light and deserves respect over this trip. #5 Hall Of Champ is in career-best form. Don’t discount.
