Deadline pushed back to June in Servis case

The federal judge presiding over the wide-ranging indictment of racing-connected individuals that was unsealed in March of last year has approved a request by the defendants to push back a deadline in the case, according to court documents.
Judge Mary Kay Vyskocil set June 28 as the new deadline for attorneys for the defendants to file motions pertaining to the evidence gathered by prosecutors in the case. The request was made by Rita Glavin, the attorney for former Thoroughbred trainer Jason Servis, who said that the request was supported by the 13 attorneys representing the other defendants in the case.
The previous deadline to file the motions was May 24. A status conference to discuss the case with Vyskocil is scheduled for May 14.
