De Kock pair head Dubai race

Trainer Mike de Kock has a powerful pair at Nad Al Sheba on Friday night, when he will saddle Yard-Arm and Greys Inn in the Al Fahidi Fort, a one-mile Group 3 prep for the Dubai Duty Free.

Both of de Kock's South African raiders are multiple Group 1 winners at home, where Greys Inn, last year's South African Derby champ, beat Yard-Arm by six lengths into ninth place in the prestigious Durban July Handicap.

But as a 3-year-old, Greys Inn was getting 18 pounds that day from Yard-Arm. In the Al Fahidi Fort, Yard-Arm and Greys Inn will carry equal weight of 132 pounds, six more than the other 10 runners in this $200,000 contest.

If they are to be beaten, the upset may come from Latino Magic, winner of the Group 3, 1 1/4-mile Meld Stakes at Leopardstown in July.
