Dayoutoftheoffice will wait for Test Stakes

ELMONT, N.Y. – The Grade 1 winner Dayoutoftheoffice was under consideration for the Victory Ride on Saturday here, but was not entered and instead will train up to the Grade 1 Test at Saratoga on Aug. 7.
In two starts this year, Dayoutoftheoffice was second to Obligatory in the Grade 2 Eight Belles at Churchill and fourth, beaten 1 1/2 lengths by Search Results in the Grade 1 Acorn at Belmont on June 5.

Last year, Dayoutoftheoffice won the Grade 3 Schuylerville at Saratoga off the same nine-week layoff that she will have from the Acorn to the Test.
“She ran good with time, that’s what we were trying to weigh out,” trainer and part-owner Tim Hamm said Wednesday. “We’ll space them out, and instead of the heat of the summer hitting her three in a row, we’ll aim for the Test.”
