David Thompson, former agent, dies

David Thompson, who worked for nearly 30 years as a jockey agent in Arizona, California, and elsewhere before retiring in the early 1990s, died Monday in Sun City, Ariz., at age 82. Pat Day, the Hall of Fame jockey, employed Thompson for a brief period in the early 1970s when Day was the leading apprentice rider at Turf Paradise.
