David Lopez moving tack from Golden Gate to Southern California

Apprentice David Lopez, who leads Golden Gate Fields jockeys with 14 victories at the fall meet, will begin riding at Del Mar on Friday.

His agent, Dennis Patterson, has three mounts lined up for Friday and one Saturday.

The 26-year-old Lopez, who finished fourth in the Golden Gate standings in the winter-spring meet, had planned to move to Southern California last June but suffered fractures in his back in an accident that sidelined him until opening day of the Golden Gate fall meet on Oct. 22.
