Danger's Hour winner City Man will point to Fort Marcy Stakes

OZONE PARK, N.Y. – A year ago, City Man came off a five-month layoff to run second in the Grade 2 Fort Marcy at Belmont Park, running a career-best 100 Beyer Speed Figure in the process.
This year, City Man will again take a shot at winning the Grade 2 Fort Marcy, only he’ll do so with a solid prep race under his belt. City Man came off a four-month layoff to win Saturday’s $100,000 Danger’s Hour Stakes at Aqueduct. He got a sweet setup when Value Proposition outfooted expected speed horse Rinaldi to the lead and City Man sat a stalking third before taking over in the lane.
City Man earned a 99 Beyer Speed Figure for the effort
Though he’s proven to run well fresh, City Man also can be effective with three or four weeks between races. When asked if the Fort Marcy on May 7 might be too quick back, Clement smiled and said, “10 years ago you never would have told me it was too close.”
Clement plans to be active in the remaining turf stakes at Aqueduct. He will run Plum Ali in this Saturday’s $100,000 Plenty of Grace Stakes. Pizza Bianca, winner of the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf, is pointing to the $100,000 Memories of Silver on April 24. Clement will run either Heaven Street or Merci in the $100,000 Woodhaven on April 23.
