Danger’s Hour marks return of Lubash

OZONE PARK, N.Y. – With the help of two supplemental nominations, the $100,000 Danger’s Hour finally attracted enough entries to be carded as the featured race on Sunday’s nine-race card at Aqueduct.

On the flip side, the $100,000 Memories of Silver, scheduled for Sunday, was not carded, though it is likely to be brought back for Wednesday.

The Danger’s Hour, a one-mile stakes originally scheduled for April 4 but postponed several times due to bad weather or lack of entries, drew six for the turf and will mark the 8-year-old debut of Lubash, the eight-time stakes-winning New York-bred who has banked more than $1 million.

Lubash, trained by Christophe Clement, last raced Nov. 22, winning the Grade 3 Tropical Turf Handicap at Gulfstream Park West. His other open-company stakes win came in the Grade 3 Fort Marcy at Belmont in 2013.

Clement also supplemented Chamois to the Danger’s Hour. Chamois, unraced since running last in the Grade 1 Manhattan last June 7, was entered to run in Saturday’s $100,000 Henry Clark at Pimlico. He is 3 for 3 over Aqueduct’s turf course.

Aztec Brave also was entered in the Henry Clark and this spot. His appearance would mark the New York debut of Joe Sharp, the former assistant trainer to Mike Maker who has done quite well since going out on his own last fall.

Awesome Vision was supplemented to the race and would be making just his second start on turf if he runs. Mutin and Shkspeare Shaliyah are the other entrants for turf. Stormin Monarcho and Empire Dreams are entered for the main track.
