Daily Racing Form’s Mandy Minger joins New Vocations board

DRF Breeding Staff|Nov 26, 2013

Mandy Minger, vice president of marketing at Daily Racing Form, has been elected to serve on the board of directors for New Vocations Racehorse Adoption Program, a multi-state program founded in 1992 that rehabilitates, retrains, and rehomes retired racehorses.

Minger has been with Daily Racing Form since 1992. She is president of the Turf Publicists of America, a member of the Eclipse Awards Steering Committee and is active in other Thoroughbred industry charities. She has also earned recognition and awards from the Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation and the Kentucky branch of Old Friends for her support and fundraising activities. Minger has also been a guest speaker at the University of Arizona’s Racetrack Industry Program and has been profiled in Horseplayer Magazine’s “Women in Racing” series.

“We are excited and feel very blessed to have Mandy Minger join our board,” said New Vocations program director Anna Ford. “She brings a wealth of experience as well as Thoroughbred industry connections that will surely help our program continue to grow.”

"It's a great honor to be named to the New Vocations board," Minger said. "I began my life-long love of racing when I was given an off-track Thoroughbred as a teenager, and feel passionately that all racehorses deserve a comfortable life after their track days are over. I'm looking forward to joining the New Vocations team where they work tirelessly and have found much success in rehoming our retired equine friends."

New Vocations has facilities in Ohio, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, and Michigan. The organization has taken in over 400 racehorses per year in 2011 and 2012 and is on target to do so in 2013. New Vocations receives horses from over 30 different racetracks and works directly with owners and trainers who are in need of racehorse aftercare.
