Daily Racing Form Announces Beyer Speed Figures added to SirePowered Results™

New York, NY (July 9, 2015) Daily Racing Form announces the expansion of SirePowered Results™, which now includes the ability to sort by Beyer Speed Figures. This innovative app provides race results that can be sorted by sire or name of runner, as well as by date and Beyer Speed Figure, to instantly follow Thoroughbred stallions and their racing offspring in real-time, in 25 countries around the world.

SirePowered Results™ are free to access, and are exclusively found on the DRF.com/breeding homepage. In the only results database of its kind, users can personalize settings by name of the runner or sire, track, date, class of race, region, distance, racing surface or age. SirePowered Results™ are totally mobile-enabled and makes staying in touch with one’s stable, favorite horse, or favorite sire in real-time, fast, easy and convenient.

Beyer Speed Figures are a proprietary system for rating the performance of Thoroughbred racehorses in North America designed in the early 1970s by Andrew Beyer, then the syndicated horse racing columnist for The Washington Post. The system assigns a Beyer Speed Figure for each horse after a race. Overall, the number reflects not only the winning time, but the time of the race and the inherent speed of the track over which it was run. Daily Racing Form began incorporating Beyer Speed Figures in a horse’s past performances in 1992.
