Daahyeh earns Breeders' Cup berth with win in Rockfel Stakes
Daahyeh earned a fees-paid berth to the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf at Santa Anita on Nov. 1 with a half-length win over stablemate Stylistique in Friday’s Group 2 Rockfel Stakes at Newmarket, England.
The first two finishers are trained by Roger Varian, who said the BC Juvenile Fillies Turf is strong possibility for Daahyeh, who has won 3 of 5 starts.
Ridden by William Buick, Daahyeh (the 11-8 favorite) closed from the middle of the field of eight to take the lead in the final furlong. Stylistique (14-1) caught 4-1 Cloak of Spirits in the final stride to finish second in the seven-furlong race.
Daahyeh, by Bated Breath, races for Sheikh Nasser Bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and has won two stakes. In June, she won the Group 3 Albany Stakes at six furlongs at Royal Ascot against 24 rivals.
