Cyclogenisis stays perfect by taking Tom Ridge Stakes
RACE REPLAY IS NOT AVAILABLE
Cyclogenisis remained unbeaten in three starts when he rolled to a 2 3/4-length victory in Monday night’s $100,000 Tom Ridge Stakes for 3-year-olds at Presque Isle Downs.
Making his first start since winning the Laurel Futurity on turf eight months ago, Cyclogenisis ($6) was third with a furlong remaining in the six-furlong race, but erased a 1 1/2-length deficit with a strong rally under Trevor McCarthy. The winning time was 1:09.33.
Fast Flying Rumor, who led by a half-length at the eighth pole, finished second, three-quarters of a length in front of Finger Lakes shipper Breakin the Fever. Control Stake, racing on a synthetic surface for the first time following back-to-back stakes victories on dirt, finished seventh of eight as the 7-5 favorite.
Cyclogenisis, trained by George Weaver for Matthew Schera, has now earned $169,800 in his three wins.
