Cyberknife pulls away for victory in Arkansas Derby

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. – Cyberknife picked up 100 points for the Kentucky Derby with his powerful, 2 3/4-length win in the Grade 1, $1.25 million Arkansas Derby on Saturday at Oaklawn Park.
Cyberknife ($13.60) sat off the pace set by Kavod, who took the field through fractions of 22.11 seconds for the opening quarter, 46.51 for the half-mile, and 1:11.22 for six furlongs. The eventual winner took the lead in the stretch and went on to cover 1 1/8 miles on a fast track in 1:50.42.

Cox also won the Oaklawn Mile on Saturday with Fulsome. Geroux was aboard that horse, too, and also won the Fantasy on Yuugiri.
Barber Road was second in the Arkansas Derby, the filly Secret Oath was third, and Doppelganger was fourth, all earning points on a scale of 40-20-10.
The announced crowd was an estimated 60,000.
