Cuttin Edge Tech wires Fancy Buckles for first stakes win
Cuttin Edge Tech became a stakes winner Saturday night when she led throughout to capture the $50,000 Fancy Buckles at Charles Town by 2 1/2 lengths over Mountaineer Cat. It was another nose back in third to Boppin Rocket.
The Fancy Buckles was a 4 1/2-furlong race for fillies and mares bred in West Virginia.
Cuttin Edge Tech ($3.40) set fractions of 21.29 seconds for the opening quarter and 44.68 for the half-mile before covering the distance on a fast track in 51.52.
Arnaldo Bocachica was aboard for trainer Kevin Patterson.
Cuttin Edge Tech is a daughter of Fiber Sonde who races for Robert L. Cole Jr. She has now won 11 of 22 starts and earned $161,685.
