Curlin 6-1 future favorite

Even before he started Saturday as the favorite in the Arkansas Derby, Curlin was the slight favorite during the second of four days of wagering into Pool 3 of the Kentucky Derby Future Wager, which will remain open through Sunday at 6 p.m. Eastern.

As of 4 p.m. Eastern on Friday, and with $48,244 in the win-only pool, Curlin was the 6-1 favorite, followed closely by Street Sense and Scat Daddy, both at 7-1, and Circular Quay, Nobiz Like Shobiz, and Tiago, all at 10-1.

Meanwhile, Rags to Riches stood as the 9-5 favorite in the corresponding pool for the Kentucky Oaks. With $9,110 wagered, she was followed by Octave at 5-1, High Heels (7-1), the mutuel field (10-1), and Cotton Blossom (15-1).

Pool 3 for the Derby closes a half-hour before Oaks Pool 3 closes. As with any parimutuel pool, odds are locked in at the time the wager closes.
