Cumberland Run: More Kentucky Sires Stakes elims occur
Tony Hall and Anette Lorentzon, along with Andy McCarthy and Tony Alagna, divvied up the $35,000 Kentucky Sire Stakes eliminations for 4-year-olds on Tuesday at Cumberland Run, with each of those driver/trainer duos prevailing on two occasions.
Hall and Lorentzon swept the trotting events, taking the dash for males with Iwon't Backdown As, a Lionhunter gelding, in 1:54 2/5, and the filly contest with Pioneer As, a daughter of Devious Man, in 1:55. Iwon't Backdown As was bred by ACL Stuteri AB and is co-owned by them and Kjell Johansson, while Pioneer As was bred and is owned solely by ACL Stuteri AB.

It was the McCarthy/Alagna show on the pacing side as I Did It Myway, a son of Captaintreacherous, bagged the horse and gelding test in 1:52 4/5 for co-owner/breeder Joe Sbrocco and co-owners Country Club Acres Inc., Don Latore and Alagna And Fodera Racing and Boudoir Hanover, a daughter of Captaintreacherous, annexed the mare showdown in 1:53 2/5 for owners Riverview Racing LLC., Alagna Racing LLC., Caviart Farms and D Plouffe And S Head. Boudoir Hanover was bred by Riverview Breeding LLC. and Visionary Breeders LLC.
